I am a racing driver raising awareness and for Crohn's & Colitis UK (more about them below).
Competing in karting from a young age, I had always dreamed of being a racing driver, but in 2015 that dream got put on hold when I was hospitalised with (unknown at the time) ulcerative colitis. I was eventually let out, but not before an emergency surgery which left me with an ileostomy.
In 2019 I finally got my opportunity, when myself and a friend built a car to compete in the C1 Racing Club, running it in the 24hr race at Silverstone, talk about a baptism of fire!
For the upcoming 2022 season I will be competing a full season in the Tegiwa Type R Trophy.
Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of.
Because of the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these diseases, thousands of people are suffering in silence. But they're not alone. We're here for them.
